The workshop was a joint initiative of the National Environment Management Authority of Kenya (NEMA), the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Swedish EPA), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
It focused on the recent assessments for the mining sector conducted by the Environmental Governance Programme, namely: the Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) for the Mining Sector in Kenya and the Rule of Law in Public Administration (ROLPA) in Mozambique.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders from the government, civil society and the private sector who have a delegated role in the environmental governance of the mining sector in Kenya and Mozambique.
